If you haven’t heard about this healthy fast-food chain known to food lovers in the state of Washington and Idaho, then get ready, because it’s headed for the East Coast.
Konala was founded in 2023 and has “a mission to make healthy food as delicious and convenient as possible,” per the company’s website. Husband and wife founders, Trace Miller and Jammie Miller are now prepping to open their menu up to a wider audience. According to QSR Magazine, Anthony J. Menicola signed a deal with the Millers to open “at least” 10 new locations in New Jersey.
“As a father of four and a business owner, we’re constantly on the go—but we’ve struggled to find healthy fast food that actually tastes good and makes you feel good,” Menicola told the media outlet. “Konala is exactly what families like mine have been waiting for. You know what you’re eating, you can count your macros, and you leave feeling great—not guilty.”
The company is open to franchise expansion and the “convenient drive-thru only model” with “curbside ordering, online ordering, and third-party delivery,” is attractive to entrepreneurs right now as the restaurant industry faces the economic challenges of in-store dining.
“What really sold me was how thoughtfully Trace designed the kitchen and layout,” Menicola continued. “This isn’t your typical open-hood restaurant with heavy staffing and prep. The model is streamlined, clean, and incredibly efficient. It’s built for scale and built for speed. It’s a no-brainer.”
Per its website, Konala promises “flavorful food made fresh throughout the day.” The menu is entirely gluten-free with vegetarian, dairy-free, and various spice-level options.
